Challenge
Aston Martin is set to launch its first BEV in 2027. The transition from producing ICE vehicles to EV means the manufacturer has to reskill, upskill and new skill its workforce to accelerate development and production. To support this process, we have been tasked with developing innovative ways of delivering vehicle electrification training at scale.
Solution
Working in collaboration with Aston Martin and partners, we are designing and developing a fully integrated Immersive EdTech Platform that blends Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Mixed Reality technologies. The platform will feature multiple immersive learning experiences, allowing internal and external staff to build the required competencies for working with electric vehicles.
The UK government is funding the project through the Advanced Propulsion Centre UK (APC). In addition to the immersive learning components, Project ELEVATION includes investment in vehicle light-weighting and a digital toolchain. The other consortium partners are the Manufacturing Technology Centre, Expert Tooling & Automation, Creative Composites, and WMG, University of Warwick.
